Ms. Figueira
My name is Maria Figueira and I'm a foreign language teacher, teaching Spanish, my native language, at East Boston High School. I have been here for the past 11 years and I have to say I wouldn't leave this school for any other in Boston. I feel part of the Eastie family and consider it a priviledge to work with such a great team of colleagues and administrators.
I have a B.A. from the University of Massachusetts in Boston, have attended and completed courses at Harvard University, and I am currently working on a Master's Degree at the University of Salamanca, Spain.
I enjoy working with a diverse population of students from who I learn so much everyday, sharing our different cultures and backgrounds, while I try to teach them a useful skill, Spanish, that will enable them to be more knowledgeable and competitive in their future.
