Ms. Giberti

My name is Marcia Giberti and I am a Special Education, English Language Arts teacher at East Boston High School. I have been in the teaching profession since 2008, all of which were at East Boston High School. I have a B.S. in Accounting and a Master's Degree in Education for Moderate Disabilities 5-12. I hold a Massachusetts Teacher License for Moderate Disabilities 5-12. I knew at a very young age that I wanted to be a teacher and now that I have realized my dream, I feel ever more confident that I made the right choice.

In a world with so much uncertainty and doubt, I want to be the rock my students confide in. I want to be their guide as they make decisions that will impact the rest of their lives, "Should I drop out or stay in school?" "Should I go to college or just get a job?" I want to be the voice inside their heads that guides them in the right direction and is constantly motivating them to do better and be better. I know I cannot take on that responsibility all by myself, but I want to be a part of it. In 2010, I actually had a young lady tell me, "I never wanted to go to college, until I met you." Another student a year later said, "I cannot believe you made me like to read." And yet another stated, "You made me a better writer." These and many more are the reasons I love my career. I am proud to say that I have found my purpose and that is to educate the world or maybe just the ones within my reach.
