Ms. Gorham

Ciao! I am Jessica Gorham Cronin, Italian teacher at East Boston High School and Student Council advisor. I have worked at the high school since 2002 and I take tremendous pride in the talented staff and exuberant students at EBHS.

I am a lifelong resident of Boston and am a graduate of the Boston Pubic School system. I have my undergraduate degree from Smith College in Italian language and literature, and later received my master's degree in English from UMASS Boston.

As an Italian teacher, my main priority is to teach students that learning a foreign language can be fun and exciting and can unlock a world of opportunity. I am particularly proud to have arranged an Italian exchange trip during the 2010-11 school year, during which students from Sicily came to stay with students at East Boston High School, and our students later went to Italy to stay with their new Italian friends.

As Student Council Advisor, I assist our student leaders as they plan activities and initiate changes in the school to create a safe, engaging and exciting climate for all students. Past activities have included Homecoming dances, Field Days, campaigns against tobacco and for healthy living, school spirit week and much more.

In all of my interactions at East Boston High School, I strive to be the kind of teacher that I would want my own children to have. I try to be positive, energetic, and to learn as much as I can from my diverse and phenomenal students..
