My name is Hannah Maker and I am a mathematics teacher here at East Boston High School. I graduated from Northeastern University in 2006 with a BA in mathematics and a Master of Arts in Teaching. The 2011-2012 school year is my sixth year teaching at EBHS. This year I am teaching Algebra I, Advanced Algebra and AP Statistics.
Last year was my first year teaching an AP course and I am delighted to note that many of my students earned qualifying scores. It was a real treat to work with such a dedicated group of young people. With that, I really enjoy working with my 9th graders as they grow as learners through their first year in high school. One of my favorite moments in teaching is when I get the 9th graders I had in class 2-3 years later as AP students to bookend their math work.
Along with teaching I am the assistant swim coach. I started swimming at a very young age and continued through college. Swimming is a passion for me and now in my free time I enjoy competing in triathlons.
