My name is Carmen Pittella. I am the staff assistant in charge of discipline for J-House, also I am the assistant coach for Volleyball. I have been working at East Boston High School for 18 years. I have a Bachelor's and Master's Degree from Salem University in Secondary Education. I completed training on Peer Mediation and Resolution. I have also served for many years on the Board of Directors of East Boston Girls Softball.
As an immigrant from Venezuela and also the daughter of Immigrants, I understand different cultures and traditions and it allows me to be able to understand and work well with our student population. I believe that working closely with parents, teachers and students we can guide our students to do well academically, have self-respect and push themselves to go wherever they ant to go. Through my years at Eastie, I have dealt with students with many different issues, and who struggled to stay in high school and complete their education. I have worked closely with many of them and when I see them cross the stage it is one of the proudest moments of my life.
